Neighborhood watch

Someone actually looks.

A camera records. A neighborhood watch is a person deciding whether that motion at 2am is worth walking over for. HoodVue puts the two together — without handing anyone the keys to your house.

  • Never audio

The stream we request has no audio track at all. Not muted — never asked for.

  • Never stored

Video goes from your camera to the guard’s screen. It does not pass through us.

  • Never secret

Every camera view is written to a log: which guard, which home, and when.

You choose the camera. You choose the hours. You can stop at any time.

  1. 01

    You share

Link your camera provider account and pick which cameras your neighborhood’s guards can see — one at a time, and only the ones pointing at the street.

  2. 02

    Motion happens

Your camera reports movement. We keep the time, the camera and a category — “person”, “vehicle”. Never a name and never a face.

  3. 03

    Someone checks

A guard on duty for your neighborhood opens the camera, sees what is happening now, and decides whether it is worth taking action.

Joining a group shares nothing.

Being part of a neighborhood is not the same as opening your cameras to it. Every camera you share is a separate, deliberate choice — and one you can undo without asking anyone.

Your neighbors never watch your cameras. Sharing puts a camera in front of the guards who patrol the group — not the other homeowners in it. There is no neighborhood feed, and no screen where one neighbor can look at another’s home.

Per camera
Share the front yard and not the back garden. They are separate decisions.
Per hour
Let guards look only while you are at work, or only overnight.
Revocable
Stop sharing, remove a camera, or leave the group. It takes effect at once.

Run by the people already watching your street.

Homeowners’ associations

Give your neighborhood a way to check on itself, without a contract or a camera on a pole.

Ask about your neighborhood

Security companies

Give the guards already on patrol eyes on the homes that chose to share, on the shifts they actually work.

Ask about your patrols

HoodVue is a tool for security personnel and is not itself a monitored alarm service.
